probably the best german k1 fighter ever ...worldclass fighter cause trained by dutch people!!....his just to small for hw ...i agree with everybody ..they should have a lhw gp for guys like saki and leko who are allways a little undersized ...cause maybe u can win a fight but its even harder to win a tournament with such a size disatvantage in every fight (exept its mma and ur vovchanchyn)
of corse im a leko fan!!but there is allmost no k1 fighter i dislike..its k1

I actually said he was "lower than them".

He beat a fantastic list of legends and guys who've won world titles, K-1 tournaments and whatnot (bear in mind he is 2-0 against one of those names, this aint some scrub we're talking about) but as I pointed out, there are black marks against Leko's name that puts him lower than them.

v
I wrote:Lower than them, but essentially just about in the "legend" category. He's very, very accomplished, and beat the best around.

Losing to cans, missing his peak years (2003 WGP, all of 2004), and fighting long past his decline are the black marks against him.

My actual list regarding K-1 heavyweights (taking accomplishments outside it into consideration)

1- Hoost
2- Schilt
3- Aerts
4- Bonjasky
5- LeBanner
-- Hug
7- Cikatic
8- Hunt
-- Hari
10- anyone from Leko, Ignashov, Filho, Musashi, Sefo

Either way, that's my top 15, with Mike Bernardo also a notable mention. Sam Greco doesnt have the record, but he's also top class.

Everyone on this list has a terrific set of accomplishments and/or impressive win/loss resume of big wins, and we should respect them all.

I'm gonna threadstart this, in fact.

Fletch imo there is no doubt that Aerts > Semmy, seeing how he is now 3-2 against Schilt. And two of those wins came with an aged peter fighting a prime schilt. Although I am biased against Sem, I still believe this is fair.

IMO its a toss up between Hoost and Aerts for number 1

World Grand Prix trumps all, my friend. I agree that Aerts has the best record in the game, but the fact is that Sem won 4 WGP's in 5 years, and got blatantly robbed in 2008 against Remy.

We all prefer Aerts. But we've all gotta give Sem his due Very Happy

05-09 was the Semmy era

Aerts had a longer career, better win/loss and more top wins, but he didnt dominate for FIVE straight years like Sem did.

The ONLY things against Sem from 2004-2009 were:

*robbery vs HMC
*robbery vs Remy (depriving Sem of 5 straight WGP's)

Hey, I prefer Aerts to Sem. But I gotta be real

through 2005-2010 Semmy lost to Aerts 3x!!!! And Aerts was older for the first win and OLD for the last two! I just am in the thought proccess of where if a 40 year old Aerts can beat a prime Schilt imagine what a prime Aerts could do

That kick Badr landed on him is my favorite in both mma and K-1. It is the kick that made me love and train spinning back kicks so much til this very day. Still got respect for Leko, but man, that kick was fucking amazing. Brutal. pirat

We were noobs once too. Forgive him.

In time, may he and the rest of this boards "longtime Saki fans" learn to respect Gokhan's sparring partner and a probable major influence on his style, and the "longtime Badr fans" may respect a man with whom he had an epic duology of fights that both ended via spinning-back-kick Smile

Someone was sexually assaulted by Leko. This doesn't surprise me, he liked to rape guys in his prime!

(Referring to the guys he beat in devastating fashion) - If this joke doesn't make you laugh, then fuck man, go outside for awhile!
I am also a Saki fan, guy is my idol in kickboxing, so I will have default respect for his training partner. Fighters get out of there prime, it happens. No need to hate though.

Leko/Hari I ended in 90 seconds. Leko/Hari II was an even fight for 2rds until the Hail Mary KO

Badr is great, but prime Leko was the best boxer in K-1, and Badr has been down many times. Prime Leko was lightning fast - he wasnt exactly "prime" when he fought Badr either, as he never looked the same after his 2yr hiatus from K-1.

Prime Leko beat Aerts twice when Peter was still at his physical prime, and Leko also beat a whole host of other top boys, so to say Badr simply rolls over him everytime is bias.

Badr and Leko could have gone 5-5 for all we know. You underrate him so much it's not even funny - even Washed-up-Leko absolutely dominated Badr-Mini, Melvin Manhoef in 2009 (until he broke his foot rd3).
