Souwer and Hinata out of the MAX WGP?!?

Here is the excerpt from the MW rankings that caught my eye.

"Two of those top 10 fighters left out of the GP will meet each other on September 18 as #2 Andy Souwer faces #9 Hinata for Shootboxing. That's a great fight, but the fact that it has cost both men a spot in the GP leaves something of a bitter taste."

Is this for real? Please tell this is a mix up or at least just a rumor. Why would they pass up a possible MAX championship for ONE fight? Why won't they be able to do both? Unless something dramatic happens they should be able to make it right? They would be fighting 3 tough opponents in one night if they made it to the Final and won. This is only one fight at the Final 16 and they have time to rest before that. Bitter taste is an understatement. Andy misses out on a possible belt and whoever wins people will say "yeah but he didn't fight Souwer". It's bad for both Souwer and the winner, because no matter how hard they're draw is Souwer wasn't there. Not that Souwer is a guaranteed finalist but this makes the GP weaker.

Hmmmm I remember hearing rumors that K-1 was having trouble paying guys like Souwer and Boukaw, maybe it's money issues.

Monetary reasons.

At the time this fight was made, you've got to remember that FEG was unsure of even completing this years edition of MAX. It bit them in the ass as they're seriously missing out on these two, especially Souwer.

never liked Souwer but its true if the a fighters wins they will say something that they didnt fight Souwer. Its like semmy not fighting in the wgp

MAX is really weak this year... Petrosyan should walk away with the title

The September 18th Shoot Boxing super fight between Andy Souwer and Hinata will be fought under death match rules which means that the fight will be 5 rounds long (3 minute rounds) and in case of a draw there will be a limitless number of extension rounds until a winner is declared.

Idk, it seems like a worthy match to take in the place o f their MAX WGP appeariances.
