Roach: “This could be it” Empty Roach: “This could be it”

http://www.rabbit-punch.net/roach-this-could-be-it.html

According to a report, legendary trainer Freddie Roach says if Manny wins against Margarito next week and can’t fight Mayweather after, Pacquiao / Margarito might be the last we see of Manny in the ring. “Floyd is the only challenge out there. I don’t know if there is anybody else. I don’t know if he just wants to fight. I don’t know, this could be it,” Roach said.

Personally I have no objections to Manny retiring if the fight with Money doesn’t go down. I’m sure many of you fans out there know this; there are lots of guys out there in the world of sports that should have hung them up a long time ago. I’m sure you can think of a few names from the top of your head, the only guy in my mind that retired in his prime is K-1 MAX Superstar Masato. Other than that, in boxing, kickboxing, MMA, too many guys don’t know how to say good bye to the game. I know Pacquiao as of late has been caught up in his political responsibilities and you are all aware that he loves his celebrity status. Manny is a modern day renaissance man, he sings, he acts, he’s in politics, and he’s this generation’s (arguably) greatest boxer.

If November 13th is truly the last time we see Manny Pacquiao, win or lose I have nothing but love and respect for his contributions to the sport boxing. The social impact he has left within the Filipino community around the world will never be forgotten and has given hope to millions. Regardless of your background, if you’re a dreamer with big ambitions (like our site), if you’re hungry enough, bust your ass day in and day out for your goals, you can achieve it. All in ring achievements aside, guys like Manny are great ambassadors for their respective combat sports, and great role models in life. WAR PACQUIAO FOREVER!

Roach is just saying that to sell more tickets & PPVs. I think we will see manny fight a few more times before he retires and becomes president of the philippines.
I can see him fighting shane mosley or Juan Manuel Márquez III or if mayweather grows a shack and fights.

I agree and disagree. Roach is selling the fight, but really there isn't anyone else. I can't see the Marquez / Pacquiao III going down mainly because Pacquiao would have to go back down in weight no? Mosley maybe, but I WANT TO SEE HIM FIGHT MONEY ALREADY.

yea but I can see marques and pac doing a catch weight of 146 or so but then again marques is getting older.

and ever one wants the mayweather fight! I thought it would go down this year but guess not. hopefully in 2011 but then again mayweather is scared of losing to pacquiao.

Mayweather is good at getting people to want the fight to happen. Those racist comments made people want to hate him more.

I posted this exact thing on the pacquiao vs margarito thread but i will post it here as i think its better over here:

If Margarito beats pacquiao it will be the best thing to happen in boxing right now. If Pac Man beats him the question everyone will ask themselves will be what now? The answer will obviously be money May, but I dont see that fight happening anytime soon. So then who else for Pacs? Cotto(yeah new trainer and all but it will not be different than the first fight) Sugar Shane(wouldnt mind seing it but with the whole in house thing just dont see it) Marquez(yes thats the fight but again the whole keep it in the house thing dont see it happening as well). Now if margarito wins obviously there will be a rematch which will take the first half of the year depending what happens in the first fight, if pacs wins the second fight a third will happen taking the second part of the year. in all i think thats better for boxing as it will give us a year of drama and exitement, I would rather see pacs fight tony in a trilogy than rather see him fight tune ups or tomato cans, however if top rank and golden boy can make out than better fights will happen as in pacs vs marquez/ pacs vs sugar
