@gryphonjapan What is wrong with the japanese people!?Are they trying to ruin their own combat sports (K-1,MMA,Sumo) or what? I dont get it.

Just curious. What kind of rating would make it a success?

i have two problems with k-1 one of them being that they dont invest more on the max division, its an exciting division sometimes better than the heavyweights but i personally fell like they dont really pay to much attention to the max div.

They did 10,6% last year.
They have to negotiate a new TV deal with TBS early next year.
Bad ratings don't help.
Only positive thing is, that there seems to be interest in Ishii.
He had the best ratings at DREAM.16 and now at K-1Max.
FEG will probably have to throw out all of their freakshows at Dynamite

Freakshows only work if believe believe they're legit fights. People thought kimbo and lesner and sapp were for real. We know this all too well.

This is not good news , maybe if they didn't put adverts in every other round and performed sexual favours for Buakaw things might have improved.
Also where's the simultaneous english broadcast? where's the international broadcasting, their business strategy could be a lot better if they marketed more outside of the far east... k-1 can't go down the pan

We're talking about TBS. I doubt TBS gives a shit about HDnet. lol
The Japanese public just doesn't seem very interested in Combat Sports anymore.
FEG need to do whatever they possibly can to keep Ishii with them, he's their biggest draw at this point. I'd throw as much money as possible at him and book him vs a freak show he can draw ratings against. Who is a big popular guy in Puro Resu these days? Or Sumo?

Do any top native fighters outside of Ishii draw in MMA currently? They have top guys like Aoki, Hioki, Omigawa, Kikuno, Kawajiri, and oithers.
It seems to be a general lack of interest in the sport, which I'm sure a big part of that is a lack of Japanese stars. But it's their fault for not making them stars.
