While being a freelancer he would show up to troll a lot of people at arenas and their homes. Choshu and Chono being his prime target, this got old to him after the press stopped covering him due to Jumbo's deteriorating health.

The press took to calling him the best wrestler to come out of the AJPW dojo, with a public vote concurring this sentiment.

This upset Onita

Onita then took to trolling Jumbo calling him out at his home driving through town with banners sporting his kids names burning them.

Onita has always been connected to the Yakuza and he told people that unless Jumbo faced him he would invade his home and hurt his family.

Baba set up round the clock watch with the sons, Akiyama, Misawa, Taue, Kawada and Kobashi doing watch duties.

The night Onita tried to do something was a Osaka show which Jumbo had to attend. Onita showed up with five street soldiers and was looking to do some damage.
