badr hari not fighting the gp this year?
Today an interview came out here in the netherlands, in a magazine called panorama.
The journalist went to visit Badr in Morocco where he's staying since his it's showtime loss.
He says it will be a long time untill he will return in the ring. Probably next it's showtime in amsterdam..
So this means no Badr Hari in the k-1 gp this year?

But then again, I sort of expected this long layoff to happen after he soccer kicked Hesdy Gerges. He needs to do a bit of soul searching, maybe that'll help him with his anger problems.
Re: badr hari not fighting the gp this year?
yes it really sucks..
i also read gerges is fighting schilt for the final 16.

Badr Hari is awesome, but I still look forward to watching some elite stand up with or without him.
Re: badr hari not fighting the gp this year?
Without Badr Hari its probably going to be Schiltosan or Remy winning it all.
Hopefully Daniel Ghita can put on a nice performance.

I'm hoping Nathan Corbett can make it far, that is if he even gets voted in.

* Remy Bonjasky is unable to participate in this year’s Grand Prix as he is still in recovery from eye surgery. hmmmm well thats good news, i never enjoyed remys turtle style, and even though badr was a peice of shit for stomping him in the 2008 gp. He wasnt hurt at all, he was up 10-8,10-8 and could of just cruised the last round as he
is very hard to knock out.
Lost alot of repect from that even though it wasnt him in the wrong it showed his character as well

Well they call him the Flying Gentleman for a reason, I like Remy, I like Badr too though. It just sucks this year's MAX and GP is lacking. But if the rumors about FEG shutting down is true, I'm going to savor every last K-1 and DREAM event till the last. Makes me sad thinking about it.

im not sure how much truth is in it, i can see dream going...but k1 is a huge brand in japan. It just confuses the hell out of me, japan the birth place of most martial arts
and how all the movies and anime in heavily influenced with fighting, its weird how there not making money anymore

It confuses me too. Maybe aside from the economy not being the best there, maybe the culture there is changing too, and the youth are growing up differently. It makes me sad, K-1 has a special place in my heart.
You know in Canada there is ZERO K-1 coverage here. I actually found K-1, through the K-1 Revenge video game for PS1 back in 1997. Since then I was always curious to know about the fighters from the game and I learned how wonderful the sport of Kickboxing is.

Maybe your right I don't know. Maybe after PRIDE died, to the Japanese it made their combat promotions look 2nd rate to the ones in North America.
Re: badr hari not fighting the gp this year?
dream is alot like pride...its just the fighters are no where near the caliber...well some are, but just look how weak the lhw tourny was.
As much as i hate to say it...maybe zuffa will bring the popularity back there...who knows. Hopefully the EA game will spark some interest. Japan has never been found of alot of western things
