Satoshi Ishii eyes kickboxing, K1

“I wanted to do better in the striking, but it was a challenge for me,” Ishii said after his decision victory over Ikuhisa Minowa at Dream 16. “In order for me to grow, I want to fight in kickboxing, like K-1.”


i think this is a horrible move, but im sure they can find someone to fight him in a super fight

He will get destroyed, bad move on his part. although I can admire his desire for improvement and taking a big challenge.

Yeah he can go ahead and do some KB. It always depends on the matchmaker in the combat sports. He won't be fighting hari.

Tanigawa will be more than happy to destroy Ishii's credibility in K-1.

I Think Ishii needs to train his Stand up. he should go to a good gym and train for a good long time, before even thinking of going to k1.

I have to respectfully disagree with you armed. He is not even remotely close to being considered an elite MMA striker and as most of us should know, MMA striking doesn't exactly mean shit when you enter elite striking contest like Kickboxing and boxing.

Another good example is Masato Vs. Kawajiri or Masato Vs. Genki Sudo!

Well I mean if he was serious about fighting K-1 his health would depend on how much he could improve his striking and when he got back into mma he would be that much more well rounded and dangerous a fighter. I thought he showed versus Yoshida he could take a punch pretty well.

With all due respect to Musashi, he was old, and at the twilight of his career. There are plenty of examples of elite MMA strikers doing well in K-1, like Ubereem and Schilt, but Ishii isn't one of them.

With all due respect to Musashi, he was old, and at the twilight of his career. There are plenty of examples of elite MMA strikers doing well in K-1, like Ubereem and Schilt, but Ishii isn't one of them.

theres not many, most mma guys have been smashed, reem got knocked out before he got massive, him and shilt are ok pretty much due to how massive they both are.

im sure they would have short nights if there were alot smaller
