He was stuck in midcard hell for most of his puroresu career but really broke out during the NJPW Vs. UWF-i fued. He headlined the final UWF-i show then followed Takada over to KINGDOM where he was one of the main stars.

I love Shoot Style so much and it's such a crime it's basically dead.

Here's a killer little match between Nobuhiko Takada and Masakatsu Funaki.

The stuff they fit into a 6 minute match is incredible and as an added bonus Funaki legit busts Takada's nose.
