Re: K-1 WORLD MAX 2011 -63kg Japan Tournament FINAL: Press Conference Tomorrow
The 2011 K-1 Minus 63 Japan Tournament fights were announced today.
2010 K-1 Minus 63 Japan Tournament champion Tetsuya Yamato will take on K-1 Koshien star and Masato fan HIROYA.
2011 Krush -63kg Tournament runner-up Koya Urabe will face the hard-hitting Yuki.
2010 K-1 Minus 63 Japan Tournament runner-up Yuta Kubo will clash with cocky Karate stylist Kizaemon Saiga.
K-1 Koshien 2009 champion Masaaki Noiri will fight 2011 Krush -63kg Tournament champion, Ryuji Kajiwara.
So four out of the eight fighters already participated in the same tournament this year but it’s still awesome.
Also announced, Yoshihiro Sato versus Albert Kraus in a -70kg superfight.
One or two more -70kg fights are planned to be announced for the card.
Tanikawa says that they want to stream the event live on the internet. It will most likely not be aired on TBS.
The 2011 K-1 World GP might start in August and they want the first event somewhere in Asia like in Taiwan or Macau.
About It’s Showtime Japan, Tanikawa didn’t know about it and he doesn’t intend to associate himself with it or use fighters that have participated there.
He admitted that he’s still causing trouble for some with the unpaid thing but that there also a lot of false rumors. About J.Z. Calvan’s tweet to him the other day he said that he’ll make sure to not forget him.
He also revealed that they’re now cooperating with Japanese promotions RISE, Shin Nihon Kickboxing’s Ihara, and MA Kick (Martial Arts Japan Kickboxing Federation). It seems to be for cultivating new fighters.
He wants the next MAX event to be in August. They might not be able to hold any World GP events in Japan besides the Final. Because of the earthquake the new system of K-1 plans have slowed down. They wanted to do the new system at this event as well.

Even though I am not big on MAX anymore, i am kind of happy to see another K-1 show on the horizon, and streamed on the internet even!
Also, does anyone find it intresting that he said he wouldn't associate with anyone from Its Showtime Japan, yet there first foray into Japan is an (Co-Promoted) event headlined by Giorgio Petrosyan?

Didn't he retire? I doubt they'd take anybody from foreign countries. But if they will, get your boy Twatson in there! He was a fucking BEAST in his last go around! HE COULD CUT DOWN, so don't give me shit!
Wow, you're not trolling are you

Nah it was Andy Howson who retired, another "leedsman"
Fletch get your mates into its showtime/k1, probably a better way to make money

I've never trolled in my life sir! William is right, though! You torries have been putting on some impressive displays lately! All jokes aside Fletch, what is the state of traditional Muay Thai in the U.K.?

With the additions of Urabe and Noiri, you best get ready for your ass to be thoroughly entertained.
This is going to be a great event.

Hopefully he's still invited for one of the open superfight slots, preferably against Andre Dida.

That's a Zuffa type move there. It's Showtime is just picking up where their broke asses left off. I'm sure Giorgio won't be too upset, seeing as he wasn't even paid from his last fight with K-1.
