Edwin "El Inca" Valero
I dont like talking about Edwin Valero cause its a VERY touchy subject in the world of combat sports...as many of you know Edwin Valero "allegedly" killed his wife in a drug induced frenzy and then hung himself in his jail cell...I dont wanna go into details of what I think REALLY happened cause I dont want people to think im a loony conspiracy theorist...
But I will talk about Edwin Valero the fighter...I first learned about Valero a few years ago cause he was somewhat of cult phenom in the internet world....he was lightweight southpaw from Venezuela with MURDEROUS punching power in both hands...a true wrecking ball and man who fought with a crazed look and was so violent it was surreal to watch him fight...he made his career in Japan where he was the WBA Super Featherweight Champion of the world....then moved on to LW where he defeated Antonio Pitalua for the LW title...Edwin Valero is the only fighter in WBC History to have a perfect 100% KO Ratio...knocking out 27 opponents in 27 fights with 19 of those Knockouts coming in the first round....guy was a fucking savage inside the ring...I would love to catch his fights on youtube a couple days after they happened...he was so entertaining...I truthfully believed Valero was the man to beat Pacquio
One thing about Valero is that he had a history of mental illness dating back to when he was kid...he was doing hardcore drugs at age 12...this guy has had problems for alongggggg time...where was the help from his friends and family...even Venezuela leader Hugo Chavez who was friend knew Valero had problems but overlooked everything cause of what he was doing in the ring for his country...Valero was involved in a near fatal motorcycle accident in 2001 which left him with partial brain damage...this man shouldnt have even been fighting...Valero's people didnt give a shit about him is what I think...theres more to the story about the murder/suicide...I been carefully reading and researching about what happened since the day it happened...and theres a TON of holes in this story and alot of cover ups which could make for an intresting story...Valero is not a big name in the states so the story means nothing here and Venezuela is a shady country so they could cover things up easily
anyway Valero was one of my favorite Boxer's in the ring...here are some HL's of his...

By the way Lane, I'd be interested to here what you have to say regarding what happened. No harm in checking between the lines.

Re: Edwin "El Inca" Valero
Pok here is a little article I wrote about Valero two weeks after his death
Here is the link where Edwin Valero calls his wife's cousin and tells her Jennifer was murdered by udnerworld thugs...he tells the same story to the police stating he was being followed cause they wanted to kidnap him..so he stopped at a toll and told a cop...the cop told him to go to a hotel...when he got to the hotel there was some shady characthers in the lobby.. ...read the story its very intresting...also it states he says he was being framed for the murder and when they locked him up he wanted to be with other inmates cause he was scared and lonley....here is the link http://www.boxingscene.com/?m=show&id=27096
Now usually when you "admit" to commiting a murder they put you in protective custody...they dont lock you in a cell by your self...what makes it more fishy to me is by putting him in a cell by himself there is no other inmates or witnesses to see what actually happened..I feel there was some foul play involved
also a months before the tragedy...Jennifer was shot in the leg by some thug on a motorcycle in front of there house...sounds even MORE fishy...maybe there was some guerillas, kindnappers or drug dealers that have been after Valero for a while....here is a link to that
http://www.boxingscene.com/forums/showthread.php?t=261014
also they NEVER found the murder weapon...if he supposedly stabbed his wife in the hotel room and went downstairs to admit...wouldnt the murder weapon be somewhere in the area,,,more fishy shit to me http://www.nowboxing.com/2010/04/boxer-edwin-valero-commits-suicide-after-murdering-is-wife/10533/
Edwin Valero was found with a picture in his mouth...who the fuck does that...also a video has surfraced of EV's suicide(disturbing I might add)...he was wearin sweat pants when he wa escorted into the jail cell but in the video he used a brand new pair of guess jeans to kill him self WTFFFF

Re: Edwin "El Inca" Valero
Wow. I never seen a boxer take guys out with bodyshots like that. I've been out of the boxing loop for awhile, but thanks for the thread and will definitely have to look up this guy's fights. RIP El Inca
But speaking of shady shit going on, what ever happened to the Arturo Gatti investigation. 1st a homicide, then a suicide, then the body was being exhumed and sent to Canada for a 2nd autopsy, then nothing more after this? His wife changed her story a couple times. They say he hung himself with a purse strap, but the medical examiner stated there was blunt force trauma to the back of his head?? crazy crazy shit.

Re: Edwin "El Inca" Valero
Valero could have been a legend but he's unfortunately been branded with a negative stigma. It's a total shame about his out of the ring tragedies.
Inside the square circle though, Valero was an animal. Vicious boxer with predatorial instinct. I can't remember a boxer that was so exciting in the past five years. You were always guaranteed a great show with any of his fights.
Taken away at the peak, that has to be the worst part about it... Arguello's death was bad enough.

Re: Edwin "El Inca" Valero
aside from Paul Williams, Valero was my favorite fighter. it was a shame his personal life seemed to be tainted by supposed anger issues and of course things like his motorcycle accident and subsequent brain issues. he was a great talent and it's a shame he was lost to personal issues.
hopefully James Kirkland doesn't go on to throw his career away because of legal issues

Re: Edwin "El Inca" Valero
The guy was a perfect example of live fast die young, he was a class act in the ring but unfortunatley not outside, but never did i expect he would end up the way he did. Anyone who post after me please say your favorite Valero fight in honor of his memory. Mines was when he knocked Antonio Pitalua's brains out to capture the WBC crown, that right hook he landed in the first knockdown was BEAUTIFUL.
