Pacquiao / Margarito HBO 24/7 “Face-Off”

To us here at the Rabbit-Punch.net team, guys like Manny Pacquiao and Antonio Margarito are big reasons why we love to watch the sweet science. We are big fans of elite world class boxing and truly appreciate everything about the sport (except for the politics). November 13, 2010 promises fireworks at Cowboys Stadium in Dallas.

Antonio Margarito is an exciting fighter who proudly owns a set of heavy hands and can hit you with pin point accuracy. He also has good footwork and has a record of 38 wins (27 by KO), 6 losses, and 1 no contest. A fighter of this caliber will give any man a hard time. He is looking to redeem himself after the controversial hand wraps incident in the Miguel Cotto fight. Love him or hate him, he will provide an interesting challenge for Pac-Man.

What more can be said about Manny Pacquiao? He is the Philippine’s favorite native son (WAR Philippines), is a media darling, the decade’s best fighter (according to HBO), and the face of Boxing for this generation. He is a huge reason for the general public still being interested in the sport of Boxing and a big PPV draw. After months of bad negotiations and verbal jabs with Floyd Mayweather Jr’s camp, we finally get to see “The People’s Champ” back in action. Margarito has power and accuracy in his hands, Pacquiao has that, and blazing fast foot work. Manny’s record going into battle is 51 wins (38 by KO), 3 losses, and 2 draws.

A lot of critics say this fight shouldn’t be happening. Some say Margarito should be in jail for his sins against the sport. There’s people out there who believe Manny is not a clean fighter, but in fact using performance enhancing drugs. I say let’s look past all the non-sense and politics and let’s just marvel at the two elite fighters in the ring putting it all out there. Will Manny be too fast for Margarito? Who has the heavier hands? Will the Texas Athletic Commission do the proper testing to insure that this is a clean fight? I can’t wait for November 13th to just come already, I just want to see this fight for the WBC Super Welterweight / Light Middleweight title.
