Thai fighter you would most like to see in MMA
Alright I know its the kickboxing forum but this is one of those what-if's i've always pondered.
THAI (not just muay thai) fighters dont usually cross over, and some of them while being great fighters dont have a style that would translate well to MMA (buakaw comes to mind).
me personally I would wanna see anuwat at 135 or 125 killing dudes with brutal hands and an iron jaw. I would also love to see saenchai mix it up at 125 with some of those crazy flyweights, he would make pettis look like a ninja in training.
Its not impossible, rambaa somdet is in his mid 30's and has some of the best striking in MMA all he had to do was take some time to get some TDD and a good guard.
Alright kickboxing forum, show me your imagination

Mine is not very imaginative, but the thought of Saenchai in MMA is irresistable.
Also, Buakaw. He branched out into Shootboxing and K-1 MAX, not much more of a step to perhaps fight on a Shooto card? He's still young, no reason he couldnt develop a mean TDD and some defence, and get to murdering people in 6oz gloves

Not just me then. I take back the unimaginative part
Also, just for some Leeds Pride, I'll say Liam Harrison (Saenchai's favourite opponent) and Jordan Watson

If Saenchai had solid wreslting defense and blue belt level submission defense hed win 95% of his MMA fights.

I feel the same way about anuwat.
also fletch, I feel like buakaw uses too many kicks for the current state of MMA. maybe in prime JMMA.
and yodsaenklai would be unbelieveable with a bit of TDD.

Buakaw has improved his boxing dramatically since he was 22 and K-1 MAX champion
With TDD and blue belt level defence, he'd still be a monstahhhhh

yeah he definitely switched it up around 05-06 but i still feel his bread and butter is kicks.
I guess one thing he has is killer instinct. he would make other LW's quit with looks alone

Buakaws boxing hasnt improved that much. He still got floored and almost KTFO by Dida's wild brawling.

I wanna see Saki. Luckily I will see Saki in Strikefore. Now if you are talking Thai fighters from Thailand then I guess it would be Buakaw.

I think in the next few years we'll see more Thai MMA fighters, as there are new MMA gyms popping up within Thailand everyday.

It improved a lot, from the time when he couldnt box and was a kicking/kneeing machine
Hence the irony of Masato beating him in 2007 and not 2004.

can you elaborate?
I mean even guys with brutal clinch work like Malaipet would bring a level of clinical violence not seen at 145+ in MMA.

NONE! I would rather see world class fighters with rules that will allow them to use their skillset, not watch some wrestler lay on them for 3 rounds.
But I have heard Souwer is thinking about making the move to MMA, no lie. He is training Jose Aldo right now as well.
