Re: Buakaw/Petrosyan
This is probably the biggest fight that could happen in the division, one can only hope that it happens.
Re: Buakaw/Petrosyan
It will be close but Petrosyan suffers from way too many injuries, thats gonna be his ultimate downfall imo. Buakaw always seems to be healthy not to mention the guy is a fucking machine. Its gonna be very close but of course Buakaw will come in as an underdog, if u ask me personally i would definatly put money on Buakaw winning the fight.

Re: Buakaw/Petrosyan
In k1 rules I would put my money on Giorgio...Buakaw would just (imo) get outboxed like all the others thais/thai stylists that Giorgio has faced....
But we can guarantee one thing...if Buakaw does lose the fanboys will be out in droves complaining hard and often about how he was "robbed" omg omg...Like they do in every fight that he has lost( fair or unfair loss alike).
With Thai rules....Not so sure because Thai rules can sometimes nullify good boxing...And Buakaw is better in the clinch and with elbows...So I would probably go with him.
Would be a good fun fight in both rule-sets.

Re: Buakaw/Petrosyan
buakaw has an extensive history in muay thai, petrosyan has a much smaller one. he would be beaten up in the clinch in full thai rulesNycto Da 6'0 wrote:what do predictions mean on TT anyway? 95% of the time everyone here is wrong
Re: Buakaw/Petrosyan
Right, because history has shown he's been really easy to catch, and isnt able to adapt to different fighters styles on the fly

Re: Buakaw/Petrosyan
Its not like petro's background is Karate lol. The only edge Buakaw has in thai rules is Petro's hands not counting for much when they repeatedly tag him.
And Kickboxing or Muay thai, he is still ridiculously hard to catch, and can still adapt to opponents on the fly. It's not like the snake charming music is the key to beating him, or just being allowed to clinch/elbow alone will be his undoing. Maybe Petro has a deadly clinch that you've never been able to see? Going by the guy himself, being so much ridiculously better than everyone at everything, and having a background in Muay Thai, I would ASSUME his clinch isn't doo-doo butter.

Re: Buakaw/Petrosyan
have u watched muay thai?? they will spend sometimes 5-10 seconds in the clinch, there is a reason petrosyan doesnt fight in thai rules you know..Nycto Da 6'0 wrote:Its not like petro's background is Karate lol. Omg...again with this retarded claim...They didn't change the rules because of Buakaw( sorry nuthugging fanboys)...they changed it because the clinch was BORING to the Japanese audience and because elbows end fights prematurely....The argument that "they changed the rules to prevent Buakaw from dominating" is retarded...He had a split decision win( against Parr) in his 2004 championship run and he needed 2 extra rounds to beat Takeda...He wasn't even that amazingly dominant with the clinch and it certainly wasn't banned because of his dominance.
Buakaw must have the worlds dangliest nutsack...Even worse than Zambidis and his fanboys (and they are also far less entertaining than the Greek fanboys).
And lol at banning dumps...Yes they are not allowed but when has Buakaw ever cared enough to follow the rules and not use them? Last time I checked he goes for dumps constantly and ignores the constant warnings he gets when doing the dumps...Then of course when he losses the idiots think he should have won because they fail to grasp that dumps don't count and kicks to the guard only count a little bit. Buakaw could care less if dumps are banned...he will go for them anyway

Re: Buakaw/Petrosyan
Kicks that land on the forearm are not scored in K-1 at all.
And yes, elbows have always been hated by the Japanese, and for good reason. Ever watch a thai fight where a guy elbows a guy then runs to his corner cheering because he cut his forehead and theyre probably gonna stop the fight? Its retarded. I came to see knockouts, not technicalities on why they cant continue. I'd rather see a guy not able to continue because he is physically not able to, not because a guy stabbed them in the forehead.
Funny how people here complain about huggin n shit in MMA, but when it comes to Kickboxing vs Muay Thai, they want to stay true to their elitist, obscure-boy roots and all of a sudden pretend they want hugging in a sport that theyre complaining MMA isn't enough like. Some tosses are cool, yes. Sometimes a clinch leads to a sweet knockout, yes. K-1 rules are supposed to be a compromise of all striking sports, so its not just for the guys who have the least amount of restrictions. Karate guys are fun to watch too. TKD guys like Saki are also fun to watch. HANDS are fun to watch. Thai boxing is cool too. Kickboxing does have things better that MT as well. Hands being the main one. Its not kicking/kneeing with slaps.

Dude I PREFER K-1 rules, in fact I dont really care for thai rules but in thai rules Buakaw would handle petrosyan, buakaw has been fighting in thai rules exclusively for the past 2 years
Re: Buakaw/Petrosyan
Speaking of Buakaw... is his last Muay Thai Premier League fight available anywhere online? I heard it was awesome.
