Shoot Boxing held a press conference on the 15th in Japan to announce some details of their “Shoot Boxing World Tournament S-cup 2010″ event.
The event will take place on November 23rd at the JCB Hall in Tokyo and 2-time K-1 World MAX champion Buakaw Por.Pramuk will make his Shoot Boxing debut at the event.
Buakaw was present at the press conference and said that he’s excited to fight in a new style and that he’s watched Shoot Boxing since way back so he knows about its rules (rules which he has played around with in his gym in the past).
About K-1 MAX he said: “My contract has ended and I’m going forward on a new road now.”
It’s not decided yet if Buakaw will enter the tournament or fight in a super fight. Shoot Boxing boss Cesar said that they’re currently thinking about it (there’s one spot left and there’s already another Thai in it).
Buakaw said that he does not have the right to choose but that if he gets the offer to compete in the tournament he’d like to give it a go.
Hiroki Shishido was present at the press conference as well. As you might remember, Buakaw destroyed Shoot Boxing legend Shishido in the K-1 MAX ring in 2006. He said that he has a big debt and if Buakaw gets the final spot in the tournament he wants to return that debt.
Buakaw said that Shishido is a star in Shoot Boxing so he would very much look forward to fighting him if possible.
Andy Souwer (3-time S-cup champion, 2-time K-1 World MAX champion), Hiroki Shishido (Shoot Boxing legend), Takaaki Umeno (Shoot Boxing new star), Charles “Krazy Horse” Bennett ( ), Bovy Sor. Udomson (great Muay Thai fighter), Henri van Opstal (Team Souwer), and Greg Foley (Shoot Boxing Australia Super Welterweight champion) are the 7 participants announced for the S-cup.

Wow, I really didn't expect Buakaw to ever fight for SB. Awesome.

saw this on NOB and it's amazing news. especially if Buakaw gets the 8th slot. if he does, it would probably be the most stacked S-Cup ever. fucking amazing even without Buakaw

Re: S-CUP 2010! Buakaw, Krazy Horse
I have serious doubts about Buakaw being in the S-Cup draw. Especially with Bovy representing Thailand. Thankfully this is Shootboxing, not K-1, so there's the distinct possibility of him being the eight participant.
But as a fan, i'm desperately hoping for it. He deserves the spot over Krazy Horse, at least.

Krazy Horse is WTF but a fighter like Buakaw should be in the draw.
