Just a lil info on how popular Boxing is here.
The fight did a 13,92mil. average viewers.

UFC was running on Sport1 which is considerably smaller, less viewed channel than RTL (Home of the Klits).
Oliver Copp was claiming that they were getting triple digit viewers (100-200k range).
He is basically ZUFFA representative in Germany, so take the numbers with a grain of salt.
At least the numbers were enought to keep showing UFC events, so they had at least +60k viewers.
And then came the ban from TV.
Better for Hardcore Fans (now we're getting live streams instead of delayed broadcasts), not good to get a better Fan base

Most Americans don't realize just how popular boxing is world wide, just like they don't realize many of the best fighters in MMA are not in the UFC. Boxing is just as popular as soccer/football in many parts of the world. That is why the money boxers make will always be more than MMA fighters overall. I still love boxing and as do many of my older family members. MMA comes first for me, but I will always have a love for the great sport of boxing. Still following boxing and watching it when I can.

Cha-ching
Especially here in England. MMA is still seen and even marketed as "cagefighting"... and seeing as Cage Rage died, there is no super-org i.e. an org with ranked talent, that can put on great events and convince the public AND marketers otherwise.
Whereas boxing was reintroduced to the world from these shores. Go figure

maybe when the US makes more champs, but so far the biggest champ they got is Andre Ward.
